What this policy covers
This policy explains how Kit For It collects, uses, shares, protects and retains personal information when you browse the marketplace, create an account, list a kit, request or complete a rental, communicate with another user, submit pickup confirmations, make or receive payments, verify identity, or contact support.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Kit For It, we may collect account and profile information; name and contact details; approximate and transaction-specific location information; kit descriptions and photos; rental dates and messages; agreement acceptances and timestamps; pickup and return confirmations; dispute, support and safety reports; device, log and usage information; and records needed to prevent fraud and operate the service.
Identity and payment information
Identity verification, card payments and owner payouts may be handled by providers such as Stripe. Those providers may collect government ID information, selfies, card details, bank details or tax information directly under their own privacy terms. Kit For It is designed not to receive or store complete card numbers or identity-document images when a provider collects them directly, although we may receive verification status, transaction identifiers, payment status, bank last-four digits or similar limited records.
How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; show and manage kits; match owners and renters; process rental requests, payments and payouts; record contractual and pickup acknowledgments; provide transaction communications; prevent fraud and abuse; enforce marketplace rules; investigate safety issues and disputes; provide support; improve reliability and features; comply with legal obligations; and protect users, Kit For It and the public.
Location and transaction details
Public browsing should show an approximate pickup area rather than a precise home address. More specific pickup details may be made available to the parties to an approved rental when reasonably necessary to complete the transaction. Users should not place sensitive personal information in public kit text or photos.
How we share information
We may share information with the other party to a rental; payment and identity-verification providers; hosting, database, security, communications and analytics vendors; professional advisers and insurers; and law enforcement or other authorities when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, prevent fraud, or resolve disputes. We do not sell personal information to advertisers, and we do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising unless we first provide any notice and choices required by applicable law.
Retention and account deletion
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including active accounts, transactions, contractual records, payment and tax records, fraud prevention, disputes, safety investigations and legal obligations. If you use the in-app Delete account control, your public profile and kits are removed and profile details are de-identified, while historical rental, payment, dispute and usage records may remain associated with an internal account identifier for reporting, fraud prevention, support and recordkeeping. Retention periods may differ by record type. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, de-identify or securely dispose of it.
Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live and whether an applicable privacy law covers Kit For It, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of certain personal data, and to appeal a denied privacy request. Where applicable, you may also have rights to opt out of certain sales, targeted advertising or profiling. Requests may be submitted through the support or contact method made available by Kit For It. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some transaction, fraud-prevention or legal records may be retained when permitted or required by law.
Security
We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls and service providers intended for secure payment and identity processing. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect account credentials and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.
Children
Kit For It is not intended for children under 13. Users who rent, list, enter contracts, make payments or receive payouts must satisfy the age and eligibility requirements shown by the service and its verification providers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented through the site or another reasonable notice method when required.
