Information we collect
We collect information needed to operate the marketplace, including account details, profile information, listings, rental requests, messages, transaction records, support reports, approximate location, pickup information, and device or usage data.
Identity and payment providers
Stripe and other service providers may collect identity documents, selfies, payment details, banking information, and tax information directly. Neighbor's Shovel should not receive or store complete card numbers or identity-document images when those providers collect them directly.
How information is used
Information is used to operate rentals, process payments and payouts, prevent abuse, verify users, provide support, resolve disputes, communicate about transactions, improve the service, and comply with legal obligations.
Location and pickup details
Public browsing should use approximate areas rather than exact home locations. Exact addresses, pickup notes, phone numbers, or similar details should be limited to people and service providers who need them for an approved transaction, support, safety, or legal compliance.
Sharing
Information may be shared with the other party to a rental, payment and identity providers, hosting and database providers, fraud-prevention services, professional advisers, insurers, or authorities when reasonably necessary. We do not sell personal information to advertisers.
Retention and choices
Records are retained as needed for active accounts, transactions, disputes, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal obligations. Users may request access, correction, or deletion where applicable, although some transaction and compliance records may need to be retained.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Users should use a strong password, protect their devices, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.
