Marketplace role
Neighbor's Shovel provides a marketplace that helps neighbors find, request, and manage equipment rentals. Unless a listing expressly says otherwise, the owner and renter are the parties to the rental. Neighbor's Shovel does not own, inspect, warrant, or guarantee listed equipment.
Eligibility and accounts
You must provide accurate information, protect your account, and complete any identity or payment verification required by the platform or its providers. You may not use another person's account or misrepresent your identity, ownership, authority, or intended use.
Listings and rentals
Owners are responsible for listing items accurately, disclosing known defects, providing required parts and instructions, and making only lawful items available. Renters are responsible for reviewing the item at pickup, using it only as intended, following instructions, and returning it on time in substantially the same condition, ordinary wear excepted.
Payments, deposits, and fees
Payments, platform fees, deposits, refunds, transfers, and payouts may be processed by Stripe or another disclosed payment provider. Displayed amounts and applicable cancellation terms are presented before payment. Deposit or damage decisions may depend on submitted records, photographs, communications, and payment-provider rules.
Safety and prohibited activity
Do not list or rent prohibited, recalled, unlawful, modified, safety-critical, hazardous, or unsuitable equipment. Users must stop using an item immediately if it appears unsafe or materially different from the listing and should document and report the issue through the platform.
Disputes and enforcement
Neighbor's Shovel may review reports, pause transactions, remove listings, restrict accounts, preserve records, and cooperate with payment providers or authorities when reasonably necessary to protect users or the marketplace. Platform review is not a substitute for insurance, legal advice, emergency services, or professional inspection.
Changes and contact
These terms may be updated as the service changes. Material updates will be posted with a new effective date. Continue using the service only after reviewing changes that apply to you.
