Rental Agreement

1. Parties and marketplace role

This agreement is between the person offering the kit (the “Owner”) and the person renting it (the “Renter”). Kit For It provides the marketplace, payment and transaction tools, but is not the owner, manufacturer, inspector, repairer, or supplier of the rented kit.

2. Owner responsibility for condition and safety

The Owner is responsible for providing a kit that is safe, complete, in good working condition, free from known defects that could affect safety or ordinary use, and accurately described in the kit description. The Owner must disclose known damage, missing parts, unusual operating requirements, recalls, modifications, or other conditions that a reasonable renter would want to know before use.

The Owner must not provide an item the Owner knows or reasonably should know is defective, unsafe, recalled, unlawfully modified, unsuitable for its stated use, or prohibited by Kit For It.

3. Renter inspection at pickup

Before taking possession, the Renter must inspect the kit and determine whether it appears complete, in good condition, and acceptable for the Renter’s intended use. The Renter should not accept or use anything that appears damaged, unsafe, incomplete, materially different from the kit description, or unsuitable for the intended use.

If the Renter identifies a problem, the Renter must report it through Kit For It instead of confirming acceptance. Reporting a problem means the Renter has not accepted possession or agreed that the kit is suitable. Acceptance at pickup records the Renter’s visual inspection; it does not excuse an Owner from responsibility for defects or unsafe conditions that were hidden, undisclosed, or not reasonably apparent during that inspection.

Kit For It may review a pickup report to decide whether the listing may remain on the marketplace and whether special cancellation treatment applies to that rental. A decision that a listing may remain active does not itself mean the Renter accepted the kit.

5. Use and care

The Renter must use the kit only for lawful, ordinary purposes consistent with the listing and any instructions provided, exercise reasonable care, stop using an item if a safety issue develops, and prevent unauthorized or reckless use. The Renter is responsible for loss or damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, unauthorized modification, or failure to follow instructions, subject to applicable law and the documented condition at pickup.

6. Cancellation, pickup reports, no-shows and early returns

Renter cancellation 24 hours or more before pickup: the Renter receives a full refund, including the rental charge, renter service fee, refundable deposit, and any delivery or return-pickup charge that has not already been performed.

Renter cancellation less than 24 hours before pickup: one day of the rental price and the renter service fee are nonrefundable. The refundable deposit is returned in full if the Renter never takes possession. Delivery or return-pickup charges are refunded unless the Owner has already made the applicable trip or provided the service.

Pickup report review: if a Renter reports a problem before accepting the kit, normal rental actions may be paused while the report is reviewed. Kit For It may (a) remove the listing and cancel the affected rental with a full refund, (b) allow the listing to remain while permitting the Renter to decline that rental without a cancellation charge, or (c) determine that the report is not supported as a listing or condition violation, in which case the Renter may still decline but the standard late-cancellation terms apply.

For a valid pickup report where the listing remains active, the Renter is not required to accept the kit simply because it is permitted on the marketplace. A penalty-free cancellation under that outcome returns the rental charge, renter service fee, and refundable deposit. Delivery or return-pickup charges are refunded unless the applicable trip or service was already performed.

Renter no-show: the cancellation charge is the greater of one day of the rental price or 50% of the full rental subtotal. The renter service fee is also nonrefundable. Any remaining rental amount is refunded. The refundable deposit is returned in full if the Renter never takes possession, and unperformed delivery or return-pickup charges are refunded.

A Renter is considered a no-show when the Renter has not arrived within 60 minutes after the agreed pickup time and has not communicated with the Owner through Kit For It. A no-show may also be recorded on the Renter’s account and repeated no-shows may result in account restrictions.

Owner cancellation or owner no-show: the Renter receives a full refund of all amounts paid. Repeated or avoidable Owner cancellations or no-shows may result in account restrictions.

Early return after pickup: returning a kit before the agreed end date does not create an automatic refund for unused rental days.

7. Return, damage and disputes

The Renter must return the kit on time in substantially the same condition as received, ordinary wear excepted. Owners should document claimed damage. Renters may dispute a charge or condition claim through the platform. Pickup confirmations, pickup reports and review outcomes, kit photos, messages, return photos and other transaction records may be considered when resolving a dispute.

8. Electronic acceptance

Selecting the agreement checkbox, requesting a rental, approving a rental, or submitting a pickup confirmation electronically records the user’s acceptance of the version of this agreement shown at that time. Kit For It may retain the agreement version, user ID, transaction ID and timestamp as evidence of that acceptance.

9. Platform limitations

Kit For It does not independently inspect every kit and does not guarantee that an Owner or Renter has complied with this agreement. A platform decision that a listing may remain active is a marketplace-policy decision, not a professional inspection, safety certification, or determination that the kit is suitable for a particular Renter. Nothing in this agreement is intended to waive rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be waived.
